About ME
Hello! My name is Colby Aderhold. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in history with a minor in philosophy in 2024. During my time at the University, I took various classes in Literature, Business, and Politics outside the requirements of my major and minor to make me a more well-rounded person. I wrote my Senior History Capstone on the United States Guano Islands and their legal and economic influence on the greater United States.
While at the University of Mary, I actively participated in several clubs and extracurriculars. I was the president of the School of Athens Philosophy Club, an active member of the Creative Writing Club, the Investment Club, the Interfaith Student Council, the Spanish Club, the Running Club, a Marauders Ultimate Frisbee League Captain, the vice president of Marauders on Politics for two years, and the co-founder, first vice president and second president of the Christopher Dawson Society for Historical and Cultural Competence.
In addition to these activities, I completed two marathons, contributed to a PhD research program at the University of Saint Andrews in Scottland, completed a semester abroad in Italy studying Italian Philosophy, Art, History, and Language. I also worked as a reference assistant at the North Dakota State Archives and a Photo Archives Intern at the North Dakota State Archives. I helped build an Excel program to compile player statistics for the Marauders Ultimate Frisbee League and I built an Excel program to manage member retention for the Christopher Dawson Society. I organized two student debates attended by over 200 students, debated in one student debate, organized multiple service projects, contributed to a research project with the National Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C., organized the second annual Christopher Dawson Lecture which involved flying a professor to Bismarck North Dakota from Dallas Texas and I received a national award for campus excellence on behalf of the Christopher Dawson Society for Historical and Cultural Competence presented by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. I made the most out of every opportunity available to me.
I am currently pursuing a job in education or investment banking while building a digital academic journal called Notes From the Contemporary Society.
